News from Pastor Grant
At its May 18 meeting, Pastor Grant informed the Bethany Church Council of his plans to retire from public ministry at the end of this summer - completing 37 years of ordained service. His wife, Ruth Bretheim Aaseng, recently retired from her long career as a music teacher on May 19, and they now look forward to discerning God’s next call for their lives (preferably something they can do together).
In consultation with Bishop Laurie Skow-Anderson, Pastor Grant’s last Sunday at Bethany will be August 30. Plans are already being made to find a suitable Interim Pastor for Bethany. Pastor Grant has mailed a personal letter to all active members of Bethany.
